In Simmern/Hunsrück, Germany, the local Hunsrückbad has been designed as an accessible swimming venue for a wide audience. The brief called for a solution that makes the pool suitable for a variety of programmes-from instruction and training to recreational swimming-with a layout that remains easily adaptable. This creates a future-proof swimming accommodation that can be efficiently planned and optimally accommodates changing target groups.

Variopool: movable pool floor with folding wall for maximum versatility

Variopool realised a moveable pool floor with folding wall in the Hunsrückbad, allowing the water depth and layout of the pool to be varied quickly and safely. This combination allows for flexible use of the pool: a shallower level for swimming lessons and target groups, or a deeper level for sports use. The folding wall also supports a clear separation and functional zoning within the pool, allowing different activities to take place next to each other or alternate easily.

The supplied installation consists of:

Folding wall: 25 x 0.3 metres
