What is a movable floor? And what are the advantages?

The smart solution for any modern swimming pool

A movable pool floor is indispensable in a modern, contemporary pool. If you are not familiar with this concept, you might wonder what the advantages of this are. We have listed them for you. Variopool movable floors are designed based on a floating concept. The system is made up of stainless steel and/or plastic components. Cables can be used to set any desired depth. These cables are fully resistant to long-term immersion in swimming pool water and also allow high loads.

High quality and smart technology

Our fitters only work with high-quality materials, ensuring that the movable floor in the public swimming pool lasts for more than 20 years. We can realise movable floors in almost any size, making them suitable for many applications. In addition to these floors, the pool can be further expanded with both horizontal and vertical retaining walls. The possibilities are then endless.

Variopool movable pool floors meet the highest quality standards, also in terms of hygiene requirements. There are gratings in the surface of the floor that ensure that water circulation is not interrupted. The drive system is located outside the pool, eliminating water contamination by hydraulic oil. The pool bottom is equipped with access hatches, which allow divers and cleaning robots to access under the bottom for maintenance and cleaning.

How does the system work?

A movable pool floor is a floating concept. Its entire structure floats on the water and the bottom is pulled down by stainless steel cables. In this way, it is adjusted to the desired height. This is done via an electronic panel in the wall or in the lifeguard's room. The bottom has enormous floating power and it is possible to hold events even when it is in the highest position. Think of water football, fashion shows and graduation ceremonies. We have many examples of this.

Day programme with a moveable floor

With a moveable bottom, the water depth can be set to different heights, making the pool interesting for different specific audiences on a single day. From flat on the pool floor to level with the water surface. In the morning, for example, you can set the pool to two metres deep so that laps can be taken, and in the afternoon to 1.40 metres, making it possible to hold an aqua Zumba or other class, for example. Even later in the day, the pool can be set at 50 centimetres, allowing swimming lessons to be given to children. This leads to more visitors, as each target group has its own interests in different activities. And of course, the more visitors, the more revenue. Our account managers can tell you all about it.
